Docudrama series about international table tennis champion, womanizer and successful entrepreneur Robert Hosé. Raised in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Curaçao, the enthusiastic, charismatic, Nietszche-reading sports hero became the role model of a new, self-conscious generation of black Antilleans in the early 1970s. He is now homeless and addicted to crack. On the basis of interviews, archive images and re-enacted scenes, the viewer gains insight into the myth-building surrounding and the turbulent life of Hosé. The highs and lows of his life and that of Curaçao appear to be closely intertwined.
