All Creatures Great and Small describes the adventures of a young veterinarian in the 1930s. Novice veterinarian James Herriot moves from Glasgow to the small English town of Darrowby in Yorkshire. There he got a job in the practice of the unpredictable Siegfried Farnon. Siegfried also has a younger brother, Tristan Farnon. He has just graduated from the University of Edinburgh and is joining the practice. Housekeeper Mrs. Hall discovers that Tristan has something to hide. Meanwhile, it soon becomes apparent that James has a crush on farmer's daughter Helen Anderson, but wealthy landowner Hugh Hulton is a competitor of James.

I wanted to see this, this series whose title has sounded familiar to me for years, even though it is not the original.
The first episodes were a bit disappointing. Too much caricatural drawing of the characters, but a viewer gets used to it, so that there is still a sympathetic nod to the characters and in the end a good feeling overpowers him and when a lot of sentimentality flows in, it falls quite okay overall.
However, one season will suffice.
