The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis plot

The central theme is the life of the young dreamer Dobie Gills. We follow him from his period in secondary school until his further education. He also briefly joins the army to serve his country. Although Dobie does his best to grow up to the best of his ability, he regularly quarrels with his father about things like work, relationships and his friendship with the good-for-nothing Maynard G. Krebs.
