Welcome to the Iron Age focuses on the 19th century in the Netherlands: from the French occupation under Louis Napoleon and the birth of our royal family to child labor and the great inventions: the first train, the first football match and the first jeans. King Willem I, II, and III, Vincent van Gogh, the young Wilhelmina, Thorbecke, Aletta Jacobs; they are all long dead, but for this series they make an exception and end up on the couch with talk show host Dorine Goudsmit.
