Judas plot
In Judas, Astrid Holleeder works towards the moment when she definitively betrays her brother to Justice. Flashbacks make clear what childhood she and her brother have wrestled free of and how painful, but necessary, her betrayal is. Already during her childhood Astrid realizes that she is different from her folk brothers and sister; she is smart and tries to develop from an early age to get away from her abusive father. But every time that seems to work, she is again swallowed by her family, in particular by her criminal brother Willem 'Wim' Holleeder.

After reading the first part of the book, now it's time for the series. And I must say a powerful series. Many passages that also appear in the book are therefore recognizable. Like the book, the series has two storylines. The first takes place in the present, with the wiretapping and safe statements of Astrid Holleerder. In addition, we go back in time via flashbacks, and the young Holleerder family, the Heineken kidnapping, the attacks on Cor van Hout and so on. In this way a complete picture is formed of Wim Holleerder, Astrid and the rest of the family.
The role of Astrid is well portrayed, excellent role by Rifka Lodeizen. The role of Holleerder is also well portrayed by Gijs Naber, rightly so that he was awarded the Golden Calf for 'Best actor in television drama'. Furthermore, the role of Peter R. de Vries also jumped in. Character played by Ronald Top. It didn't really resemble de Vries, but his voice was the same as that of de Vries.
Downsides? Yes, it was not always easy to understand that flat Amsterdam, that is difficult for the non-Amsterdammer to follow. But understand the makers, they want to make it as realistic as possible

Read the book too, thought this was a well translated series. I can imagine if you haven't read the book, it is indeed a bit of a ramble..
The series looked good, but otherwise nothing great for me. Just fine.
