Punky Brewster plot

Central to this series is the daily life of 7-year-old Penelope Brewster, whom everyone calls Punky. She was abandoned by her mother in a supermarket, along with her dog Brandon. Not wanting to grow up in an orphanage, she eventually meets Henry Warnimont. He takes her and her dog home. Other characters include Punky's best friend Cherie Johnson, who lives in the apartment above Punky with her grandmother Betty, and Allen Anderson and Margaux Kramer.
