Little London, Little Berlin tells the story of Charley "the Canadian" and his family during the war. He has two sons. Marc, who lives at home, is the youngest and Gerard, who is married to the rich widow Hilda, lives in the village. Charley is not pleased with the Germans, but his daughter-in-law Hilda as a Flemish nationalist, on the other hand, is full of praise for the Nazis. Husband Gerard does not speak out. His marriage has helped him climb the social ladder, a position he clearly doesn't want to jeopardize.
