Blott on the Landscape plot

A Prime Minister Giles Lynchwood tries to build a freeway at the site of his wife's inherited home. His wife, Lady Maud, obviously does not agree and a considerable battle ensues between the two. The fact that Lady Maud has a desire to have children and Sir Giles is cheating on a mistress in the meantime also causes marital problems within the Lynchwood family. Who will win the battle to build this road?
