Roomies plot
Nick Chase, a forty-two-year-old former Marine drill sergeant, takes advantage of a special arrangement that allows him to return to college to learn more. He has to share his room with fourteen-year-old Matthew Wiggins, who is known as a marine biology prodigy. Nick doesn't like sharing his room with a child, but when he sees that Matthew is serious about his studies, he decides to give it a chance. The two support each other and try to help each other as best they can.
