Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm plot
Central to this series is a group of warriors assembled by Raiden to defend Earthrealm from invaders from various other dimensions who invade through portals. Among the warriors are Liu Kang, Kurtis Stryker, Sonya Blade, Jax Briggs, Kitana and a young Sub-Zero, while Nightwolf mainly provides technical support. The warriors operate from a hidden base where Nightwolf and Raiden monitor portal openings. Shao Kahn is the group's nemesis, responsible for allowing Earthrealm to be invaded by other dimensions.
