Skiftet plot
It's 1958, and Sweden's first female police officers graduate; a small group of pioneers takes a big step toward gender equality, but struggles with even the smallest step. They are ridiculed by the public, belittled by the media, and scorned by their colleagues. The new recruits are assigned to the country's most criminal district: Klara police district in Stockholm. As they patrol the streets of Stockholm, they quickly realize that their biggest problem isn't the criminals; instead, they face resistance from their colleagues and society at large.

A conventional six-part Swedish drama about the first female police officers in Stockholm in 1958. With good actors, a well-paced script, and a credible 1950s production, Skiftet offers an enjoyable story about women's rights, sexism, gender inequality—then called opportunities for women—and the search for autonomy.
At the same time, don't expect any striking insights or refreshing perspectives: the drama is tame, predictable, and the characters remain distant. Ultimately, Skiftet doesn't linger long. What does linger is Ice Cube's gangsta rap "Good Cop, Bad Cop." It's supposed to transport the series to the present, but feels completely out of place. Skiftet is for fans of "State of Happiness," "Carmen Curlers," or "Lessons in Chemistry." Incidentally, all series that do add something to the perspective on the 1950s and 1960s.

There are fantastic Swedish series, but I didn't find this one. I agree with Suitehome; you watch this and forget about it the next day. I think it's more of a BBC First-class series.
I was actually glad it was over, and if there is another season I won't be watching it again.
I always expect a lot from Scandinavian series, but they can't all be top-notch, of course...
