Willy's Boot plot
In early July 2019, actor and TV producer Joris Hessels moved to Gentbrugge. There he met (the late) Willy Bontinck, a headstrong man who still had one big dream: to sail the North Sea one more time with his old sailing boat, the 'Gentse Dolfijn'. With the help of residents from Muide-Meulestede, a working-class harbour district in Ghent, Joris first had to restore Willy's old sailing boat and make it ready to sail. And so he started his search for volunteers. In each episode we also see a collage of portraits of the residents, supplemented with images of the volunteers who restored the boat. "Willy was ultimately able to make his big dream come true, and this programme is therefore a posthumous tribute to a unique man", says Hessels.
