Happy Days plot
Set in the 1950s, Happy Days follows the Cunningham family, including their son Richie. Together with his best friends Potsie and Fonzie, they experience the necessary adventures at Jefferson High School. Kids come and go, Richie and his friends go to college or join the military and even have kids.

This popular sitcom aired in the 1970s, but is set in the late 1950s. It was the first generation that really had a youth culture, with rock 'n' roll, doo-wop, nozems, beatniks and Chevrolets in the drive-in. Bill Haley, Elvis Presley, The Platters and Mary Ford & Les Paul can be heard on the soundtrack, in addition to the closing title track.
Richie is an insecure, well-meaning boy who is working on his popularity. School dropout Fonzie is a greaser: a tough guy with brillantine in his hair, a leather jacket and a motorcycle. There are similarities with the Broadway musical Grease. Themes are growing up, friendship and puppy love. One episode is about segregation. It is a funny, nostalgic series that also contains wise life lessons. Definitely worth rediscovering!
