Schiphol Airport is a reality show from Videoland that offers a glimpse behind the scenes of our international airport. We meet a motley crew of employees, including the imperturbable floor manager Josée ("oi joi joi"), but also customs and military police officers, ground staff, homeless people, and of course, travelers.
That last group, in particular, regularly causes quite a stir. Short tempers, impatience, drunkenness, and other antisocial behavior seem to be increasingly part of daily airport life. This makes for television that is sometimes entertaining and sometimes frustrating.
However, the series also has a downside: many situations bear a strong resemblance to one another, causing a certain monotony to creep in after a few episodes. The repetition makes the program tiring to watch in the long run. Even the decisive and colorful Josée cannot completely prevent this.
