Carmen Curlers season 1

In addition to being designers of the Nordic Noir, the Danes are also inventors of the electric curler. In Carmen Curlers we follow Axel Byvang (Morten Hee Andersen), the charismatic, driven and manic inventor of the Carmen curl set, from 1963 to 1969. What is interesting about curlers? A lot, as it turns out after watching this eight-part drama series.

Creator Mette Heeno (Snow Angels) knows how to turn Carmen Curlers into a light, beautiful and elegant story against the backdrop of the narrow-minded 1960s. Carmen Curlers is many things; a social drama, a coming of adulthood story, a biopic and a touch of musical. Everything in a pleasant dose.

Similar to the powerful image of the Norwegian State of Happiness, Carmen Curlers gives a classic insight into the Tradwives of today. The fact that progress and emancipation do not happen automatically is depicted with flair in Carmen Curlers.
