Wonderful second season, this time about the murder of fashion giant Gianni Versace. Maybe it helped that I didn't know anything about this murder beforehand. A fascinating main character that is strongly portrayed here in a perhaps career-making role of Darren Criss. Also excellently constructed where you learn more and more about the life of the killer.

Just not 4.5 because I like things like that that it is very truthful. Of course that is difficult here. Although they went overboard with some things. Facts that were easy to find out have also changed. And that after the 1st season where everything was imitated so exactly .. That was sometimes quite swallowing for me.
Apart from that a great show. Episodes 4, 5 and 6 were favorites. Couldn't stop watching. Found them to be very skilful in showing how it all got this far in the end. Maybe it was already in his DNA. His father was also a narcissistic sociopath and pathological liar (and Andrew's golden child). His upbringing certainly contributed. How his mother was treated... That was also a very wrong example. And then being gay in puritan America... Shame on you because your father fled the FBI for theft and fraud and left the family in poverty. And then also being gifted, so he got away with a lot and didn't really click with peers. I can't say I'm overwhelmed with pity for him. I have more to do with his victims and their loved ones (and his poor mother) but somehow I can understand where it mainly went wrong. Previously learned a lot about the case but never so in depth. I found it very fascinating. Already looking forward to the next seasons!

While season 1 was still fascinating until the end, there was simply too little to tell in this story. There are too many episodes and after half way it gets tedious and the series bleeds to death, with one positive outlier (the penultimate episode). Furthermore, the roles of Vasace and his sister remain somewhat underexposed, they are in fact only small supporting roles. A plus is that Criss plays an excellent lead role.
