Midsomer Murders plot

Midsomer County seems like a quiet and peaceful county in England, but nothing could be further from the truth. On a regular basis, DCI Tom Barnaby and his assistants are presented with horrific murders. Nothing is what it seems behind the facades of the oh-so-picturesque cottages and mansions, the sneaky writers and investment clubs or the sinister choirs. Heads are cut off, people are strangled, drowned or burned alive, pierced with a threatening object or pelted with their most precious possessions. Murder is out of love, hatred, revenge and jealousy, and in many cases the killer will stop at nothing.

I do prefer the episodes with John Nettles over those of his successor Neil Dudgeon. The stories themselves are still just as good, but the new DCI just doesn't have the same strong and appealing personality. It's a bit of a gray mouse compared to John Nettles.

I also notice that we see a lot of actors and actresses from "A Touch of Frost" again in this series.

As a whole a '4' for this fine crime series.
