Midsomer Murders plot

Midsomer County seems like a quiet and peaceful county in England, but nothing could be further from the truth. On a regular basis, DCI Tom Barnaby and his assistants are presented with horrific murders. Nothing is what it seems behind the facades of the oh-so-picturesque cottages and mansions, the sneaky writers and investment clubs or the sinister choirs. Heads are cut off, people are strangled, drowned or burned alive, pierced with a threatening object or pelted with their most precious possessions. Murder is out of love, hatred, revenge and jealousy, and in many cases the killer will stop at nothing.

Only saw episode 1 of this tenth season but absolutely wanted to see John Nettles at work again.

As could be expected, many folk characters and a light-hearted atmosphere that celebrates its peak with a long, delicious British song and dance scene. Barnaby feels quite pleased, but we thought he falls outside of his role as Chief-Inspector, because it won't be long before he surprisingly points out the wanted perpetrator and explains the entire murderous event.

Good old John Nettles.
