Les Revenants plot

The quiet life in a village in the French Alps is shattered: several residents, who everyone thought were dead, suddenly return home. They look dazed and don't even realize that they had indeed died years ago. The bizarre thing is that they look completely normal. They have not outwardly aged a day and have no sense of their own mortality. Each and every one of them is determined to pick up the thread of their lives again. But then the villagers begin to realize that they are not the only ones who have returned from the dead. Because shortly afterwards the village is ravaged by a series of gruesome murders. It looks like a serial killer from the past has become active again. And it all gets even weirder...

Unfortunately I have to agree with stinissen: you can safely skip this season. In my opinion it is inferior to the first season in all respects: it is much less atmospheric (among other things because of less music, which is also used less strongly), the subtlety is completely gone and the plot did not interest me for a moment. I really had to struggle through it, and sometimes I even skipped parts of episodes out of boredom. There are still some good parts in the series (Victor, for example, remains an intriguing character), but the majority I found very disappointing. 2.25*

Although the last episode is one of the strongest series episodes I've seen, I still don't get higher than 3*. The atmosphere and the images are still there, but the story is a mess. As mentioned, Victor is again the most captivating character, and I found characters like Camille and Adele extremely annoying.

The potential for a good third season is certainly there thanks to the ending, but the writers could do a little more to keep me interested in 8 episodes. Too bad, because the first season was brilliant.

I have to agree with the second comments from above. Season 1 was GREAT. You expect that you will get answers in series 2 and that they continue on the elan of season 1, but this is disappointing. It's really a mess. What is it about now? I hope for a third season that makes more sense.
