The best season in recent years. The series remains extremely topical, especially now that it taps into the American elections, President Trump, social media and the increasing terrorist threats. This time the story is set in the middle of Manhattan (coincidentally went two months ago, so that made it extra fun to watch).

This time, Carrie works in a law firm of sorts to protect a boy suspected of an act of terror. In addition, Quinn, who has completely changed after the last season in Berlin, comes to live with Carrie and Carrie has to fight to keep her daughter with her. The future president of the US also plays an important role.

What's especially nice about the season is that no one can be trusted, as was the case in the first season. Quinn is mentally not okay and capable of anything, the future president doesn't seem exactly reliable, Saul has secret agreements and it is again difficult to get information from Dar. I thought the future president, played by Elizabeth Marvel, was a nice addition to the series.

In my review of season 5, I said the series should stop. I am now one season further and I know that there are at least two more seasons to come. There is also a very good chance that the next season will be set in Washington and that the story of this season will go even further. I'm okay with that in principle, but after that it's done in my opinion.

Back on track! That's how I would best describe S6 of this series, the writers have clearly recovered. Again believable, quite exciting and above all extremely topical. Cleverly written too. Whichever side you stand on as a viewer in the divided USA, the interpretation can go either way. The new president in the making, nice addition to the cast by the way, is a healthy mix of both candidates and her storyline contains many elements from the various camps.

Any minus? Especially during the first half you have the feeling that they can no longer surprise you. As if you have long realized how the fork is on the handle and everyone walks around like a headless chicken. But Homeland wouldn't be Homeland, if in the end there wasn't much more going on than first thought. The cards have been seriously shuffled this season. Curious what S7 will bring. It is already clear that a certain Vikings actor will play a major role. Also a promising addition.

For me, S6 is the best season since S2 and the second best season in the whole series anyway. And I'm happy about that, because I feel like the story around Carrie was completely over during S4 and above all S5, nothing could be further from the truth...
