What a fickle start to a series that would get better with each season. It does, however, immediately put Vic Mackey on the map as one of the most intriguing mourners of the early 2000s. He may not have the layering of a Tony Soprano, but his wonderfully straightforward morals make him a very amusing lead.

An original police series because for the first time a bunch of corrupt cops starred. Vic Mackey and his Strike Team are the terror of all the criminals in the (fictional) Farmington district of Los Angeles. They have a high arrest rate because they have gangs, dealers and pimps in their pockets at the same time they are also hated by many criminals. Although Mackey and his team are well liked by many colleagues, they also have enemies among them, most notably Detectives Wyms and Wagenbach and their Commissioner Aceveda. So the strike team must be constantly on the lookout. The setup is somewhat similar to Chicago PD but both series are very different. Hank Voight is a good cop who is willing to go beyond boundaries to bring justice in the end. Vic Mackey and the Strike Team are just badged criminals who also sometimes catch criminals. Both series don't resemble each other much, but they do share that they are great.
