With this eleventh season, Beck proves that good old-fashioned crime series don't have to lose any of their power. While the familiar Martin Beck (Peter Haber) remains present in the background, grandson Vilhelm Beck (Valter Skarsgård) is given more room to develop. In four one-and-a-half-hour episodes, the focus is entirely on strong and surprisingly topical crime cases.
Completely in the spirit of the characters from the books by Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö, Beck remains socially critical, constantly seeking the deeper backgrounds and nuances behind the crime. The result is refined top-tier drama that effortlessly confirms its status as a Swedish crime classic. Along with Wallander, Beck remains among the best crime fiction Scandinavia has produced.
