***SPOILERS!!!*** I don't feel like spoiler tagging, also because I think it would be a bit complicated here, so here it is again: ***SPOILERS!!!***
Unfortunately, I missed small parts (the second murder, for example), but there is no doubt that Laura took the law into her own hands and murdered two men. No conclusive evidence is provided in the trial that those men were about to murder their wives and their wives did not want to leave them… a devilish dilemma, then, because it becomes clear that they were holding them captive in a hell. I am still wondering what would actually be (legally) possible then (the help Laura offers many in her pharmacy is strongly reminiscent of a kind of resistance work in a war – which is also briefly touched upon later in the series)…???
For the rest, this drama veers off in all directions, is heavily exaggerated at many moments including an overblown soundtrack, and proves once again, in passing, that fidelity or infidelity within a seemingly monogamous relationship in France is not such a big issue(?)…
