Great fourth and, judging by the particularly nasty and apparently final ending, probably the last season of this first-rate detective series. The plot is again like a beautiful puzzle, with fascinating characters, dramatic developments and the necessary surprises. But that ending... damn, I didn't see that coming.

In S4 of Unforgotten, an old murder is revived once again. Creator and writer Chris Lang (Innocent, Plan Coeur) has put together an ingenious scenario that allows DCI Cassie Stuart (the great Nicola Walker) and DS Sunny Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar) to search for the truth about a 30-year-old murder case. The lives of almost all the main characters change drastically. And as befits Unforgotten, this happens flawlessly, empathically, sometimes viciously and always with top notch acting. The intense grand finale is the provisional crown on four outstanding seasons of Unforgotten. Good, better, British.
