The Shield plot

Detective Vic Mackey leads a team of cops who are highly successful in fighting crime. They only work according to their own rules, in a very controversial way and they do not shy away from a tough approach. Commander David Aceveda is the youngest district chief, who is not happy with Mackey's way of working and would rather see him go than come. The only thing holding him back are the very good results of the team and Mackey's influential friends.

Watched the last four episodes of this season in one go. What more can we say than that the quality is again exceptionally high? I did think the middle section was a bit toned down when Mackey went to get that lawyer in and she slowly found out that the team might not be that clean. Kavanaugh also got a little annoying, despite the great way how Forest Whittaker puts him down. In the end, they work towards a wonderfully painful finale, which opens up a lot of avenues for the sixth season.
