Where I found the first season almost magically good and innovative, the second a lot less and the third even stronger, this fourth season really disappointed me. Dramatically bad.

I experienced it as messy, vague and stripped of all the charm from the previous seasons.

This season (again) is very dependent on hallucinations of Clay in particular, which I was really done with in episode 1. I get that this is supposed to represent his fears and panic, but it often felt like filler and was mostly overkill. When also the other characters get it, it gets more and more unrealistic.

Episode four is a bad horror movie, the next episode is even crazier.

This season was unnecessary for me: the viewer is always presented with a mystery, it is simply not interesting anymore and it completely misses the point. There are so many improbabilities in it that the interest in the course diminishes further and further (Winston playing the detective, a school shoot that goes on way too long for an exercise, Clay coming out of a escaped from a highly guarded state and then did not have to go back, parents who fully supervise their children through school and so on).

One big disappointment.

I've never seen such a bad season, what a mess. The people above me have touched on everything, it was an agony to see. I wish I could watch it again, but later I regret it.
