Predictable fourth season of icy Canadian noir. Although the sun does shine here now and then, the plot revolves around a dime a dozen serial murder. The elements (snow, storms, -40) are used well in otherwise not too original story. The spunk seems a bit off, and it doesn't help that we already see plot twists coming from miles away. Not even Karine Vanasse can save the day. Cardinal kind of goes out like a candle.

Excellent fourth season; this series actually gets better and better. The last episode lets it down a bit, but until then this is very intriguing and exciting. The beautiful wintery and desolate Canadian landscape once again contributes considerably to the atmosphere. The series could go on for a while at this level, in my opinion,

I found this season a little less than the last. This is due to some illogical actions. But otherwise very strong. Just give me a season 5.
To me, in all seasons, they should have shown a little more of what happened to the people they arrested. That's why it was interesting to hear in season 4 that the psychiatrist and murderer of Cardinal's wife Catherine committed suicide in his cell.
