R.I.P. Howard Wolowitz. Op het moment van schrijven het hoogst gewaardeerde seizoen van de serie op deze site gezien het gemiddelde. Voor mij wederom een teleurstelling, ondanks dat het seizoen voortvarend begint met in de eerste aflevering Howard die een robot arm gebruikt om te masturberen en in de tweede aflevering Sheldons Robot Avatar, wellicht zelfs de beste episode uit de hele serie. Dit zijn het soort episoden die ik het leukst vind: een stel nerds die met gekke technologische ideeën komen om hun leven makkelijker te maken. Met een oversekste en perverse Howard. Aan die Howard komt dus in dit seizoen een einde, aangezien hij zich verlooft met Bernadette, en hij prompt een stuk saaier en vooral minder grappig wordt. Hier slaat dus de eerste regel van dit bericht op. Ook het nieuwe karakter Amy begint leuk zoals ze geïntroduceerd was, namelijk een vrouwelijke versie van Sheldon zonder enig gevoel voor sociale normen. Mooi om die twee met hun eigen wereldbeeld tegen de rest van de wereld te zien, waar helaas in dit seizoen al snel een einde komt omdat Amy toch over een libido blijkt te beschikken en vriendschappen met de andere dames wilt sluiten. Dit vrouwenclubje is toch een beetje een suf groepje en past eigenlijk ook totaal niet bij het personage van Penny. De hoogtepunten van dit seizoen mogen hoger zijn dan die van het vorige seizoen, maar de dieptepunten zijn helaas lager. Over het algemeen een stuk meer relatieperikelen (zeker met die vervelende zus van Raj) en minder nerdy stuff. Eindconclusie: eenzelfde score als het vorige seizoen, 2,5* dus.

At the time of writing, the highest rated season of the series on this site considering the average. Another disappointment for me, despite the season starting energetically with Howard using a robot arm to masturbate in the first episode and in the second episode Sheldons Robot Avatar[/ spoiler], possibly even the best episode in the entire series. These are the kinds of episodes I like the most: a bunch of geeks coming up with crazy technology ideas to make their lives easier. With an oversexed and perverted Howard.

So that Howard will come to an end in this season, since he gets engaged to Bernadette, and he promptly becomes a lot more boring and especially less funny. This is where the first line of this message is stored. Also the new character Amy starts off nice as she was introduced, namely a female version of Sheldon without any sense of social norms. Nice to see those two with their own world view against the rest of the world, which unfortunately soon comes to an end in this season because Amy turns out to have a libido and wants to make friends with the other ladies. This sorority is a bit of a dull group and actually doesn't fit at all with Penny's character.

This season's highs may be higher than last season's, but unfortunately the lows are lower. In general a lot more relationship troubles (especially with that annoying sister of Raj) and less nerdy stuff. Final conclusion: the same score as the previous season, so 2.5*.
