Temple plot

In a sprawling, desolate network of tunnels near Temple Station, Daniel, a surgeon, runs an illegal medical clinic for dangerous and desperate patients who cannot or will not seek help from mainstream medical facilities. Daniel sets up the clinic to find a cure for his wife Beth, who is suffering from a terminal illness. Lee, a Temple Station employee, and Anna, a medical examiner, help him run the clinic. Daniel's dangerous and unpredictable clientele tests his morality to the limit. But if it means he can save the person he loves, it's all worth it.

Quirky British drama at heart with strong actors, a few nice plot twists and a (very) small dose of Fargo-esque humour. The starting point? Eh...well, you have to poke through that. A surgeon who starts an underground private clinic. How do you think? Get stunned and just surrender to the story. By the way, without it becoming grand and compelling. There are some thriller elements in it, but they don't lead to hypertension or tension headaches. Carice van Houten plays an important role. It's hard on me to say it, but it's not her best role. A little flat, like she's been put on soothing medication. But always good to see Dutch actors operating abroad. I was terrified of it, but an S2 is coming.
