Together premieres in UK cinemas next week and it looks like fans are in for a fun body horror.
The movie, starring real-life couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie, is written and directed by Michael Shanks in his directorial debut.
The official premise reads:
'Years into their relationship, Tim and Millie find themselves at a crossroads when they move to the countryside, abandoning all that is familiar in their lives except each other. With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love, and their flesh.'
Together initially premiered at Sundance in January before being theatrically released in the United States at the end of July.
It will be released in the United Kingdom on 15 August.
Together Reviews
"Even with all the physical warping and fusing—and the extreme measures the couple ultimately undertake to free themselves from it—it’s the emotional dysfunction, as perfectly performed by Franco and Brie, that truly makes TOGETHER land." - Michael Gingold of Rue Morgue Magazine.
"There are jump scares. There are some shocks. And the tone and setting are pure Horror 101. But for those who aren't put off by these things – or embrace them wholeheartedly – Together offers an unexpectedly human framework." - James Berardinelli of ReelViews.
"When the body horror kicks in, it doesn’t go nearly as gonzo as The Substance and its splatter-filled finale, but the excellent practical effects and prosthetics still deliver some gloriously repulsive visuals." - Shakyl Lambert of CGMagazine.
"Thanks to the brilliant screenplay and direction, Together undeniably earns its place as one of the best horror films of 2025." - Alan French of Sunshine State Cineplex.
"Tim and Millie are a co-dependent couple doomed to get a lot closer in what either amounts to the most disturbing of body horror nightmares… or a swoon-worthy alternative rom-com, depending on your disposition. (Or fetish.)" - David Crow of Den of Geek.
"Alison Brie and Dave Franco carry the ball with perfectly believable turns, while first-time feature director/writer Michael Shanks fills in the blanks with a few sparkling, FX-driven notions on the way to an inevitable climax." - John Urbancich of JMuvies.
"Together is a horror knockout! Expertly-crafted thrills, bone-chilling imagery, and psyche-twisting trauma make it a must-see. The electric chemistry between our leads anchors the wild ride, with sharp humor slicing through the tension." - Austin Burke of Fan Nation.
