A few years ago, a poll indicated that around half of Americans would be open to the idea of The Rock becoming President of the United States.

Johnson, a political centrist, admitted to Trevor Noah that he had been approached about running by multiple parties.

“That was an interesting poll that happened and I was really moved by that,” he said.

“I was really blown away and I was really honoured. I’ll share this little bit with you: at the end of the year in 2022, I got a visit from the parties asking me if I was going to run, and if I could run.

“It was a big deal, and it came out of the blue. It was one after the other, and they brought up that poll, and they also brought up their own deep-dive research that would prove that should I ever go down that road . It was all very surreal because that’s never been my goal. My goal has never been to be in politics. As a matter of fact, there’s a lot about politics that I hate.”

Would The Rock run for President?

The man himself has spoken about this topic many times and though he doesn't have any plans to run at the moment - that doesn't mean he won't in the future.

Currently, his focus is on his family.

"It’s off the table," Johnson said on CBS Sunday Morning.

"I will say this 'cause it requires a B-side: I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a daddy. And that’s the most important thing to me — is being a daddy. Number one, especially during this time, this critical time in my daughters' lives, because I know what it was like to be on the road and be so busy that I was absent for a lot of years in my first daughter's ... life.

"And that's what the presidency would do."

The Rock has three daughters, Jasmine and Tiana with current wife Lauren Hashian, and Simone from his previous marriage to Dany Garcia.

In the same aforementioned interview with Noah, he ended it by saying: "If that’s ultimately what the people would want, then of course I would consider it.”
