The final trailer has been released for The Marvels which hits cinemas worldwide this Friday.

The official premise for the movie reads:

'While investigating a wormhole linked to the Kree, Monica Rambeau's powers become entangled with those of Kamala Khan and Carol Danvers. The trio team up to determine why they are swapping places with each other every time they use their powers.'

Brie Larson reprises her role as Captain Marvel, with Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani featuring after appearances in WandaVision and Ms. Marvel respectively.

The main villain of the piece will be Dar-Benn, portrayed by Zawe Ashton. She Dar-Benn is looking for revenge on Danvers for something in the past, and it is possible she is responsible for the power-shifting mess that our three heroes find themselves in.

Samuel L. Jackson will again appear in the MCU as Nick Fury, an ally of Danvers.

When Larson was announced to play Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, she received online hate from misogynist trolls as the movie was going to be the first female-led feature within the MCU.

The situation reached a point where she considered leaving the role before The Marvels.

Jackson urged his friend to ignore the idiots.

"We bonded through the election while we were doing her movie (Unicorn Store) when Donald Trump won. She was broken and I was like, 'Don't let 'em break you. You have to be strong now,'" Jackson recalled to Rolling Stone.

"Then, when she got Captain Marvel, she called me and was like, 'They want me in the Marvel Universe. Should I do it?' And I was like, 'Hell yeah! Let's do it!'

"She's not going to let any of that stuff destroy her. These incel dudes who hate strong women, or the fact that she's a feminist who has an opinion and expressed it? Everybody wants people to be who they want them to be. She is who she is, and she's genuinely that."

Interestingly, with all the noise surrounding Robert Downey Jr.'s potential return as Iron Man, he makes an appearance in the trailer with footage from Endgame, while Thanos' voiceover can also be heard...
