The first teaser trailer has been released for horror video game OD, developed by Jordan Peele and Hideo Kojima.
The legendary Japanese game developer took to the stage at the Video Game Awards to present the teaser, which shows stars Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier staring down the camera, clearly disturbed while reading out a narrative.
Further details on the plot or gameplay are thin on the ground at the moment, but the teaser is certainly cause for excitement, especially when you consider Kojima and Peele are behind it.
“I really like challenging new things, groundbreaking things, that’s my kind of rule,” Kojima said.
“But this one, with the help of Xbox Game Studios and their cloud gaming technology, I am kinda doing this… it’s really to make immersive… something no one has done before. It is a game, don’t get me wrong, but it’s a movie. A new form of media.”
Peele, standing beside Kojima, said:
“I just want to stress. What this man is building here is unlike any other game."
Interestingly, Peele isn't the only legendary filmmaker reportedly involved in the development of OD, as Kojima has yet to reveal more collaborators, whom he called 'The Avengers'.
