Jensen Ackles has thrown his name into the conversation about who will play Batman / Bruce Wayne in The Brave and the Bold.
The movie will feature the live-action debut of Damien Wayne, Batman's son who is initially introduced as a villain but eventually becomes Robin. In this Batman story, Bruce Wayne had a child with Talia al Ghul whom he was not told about for years.
It is set to be part of the new DC Universe which will be overseen by James Gunn.
Even though casting is some way away, The Boys and Supernatural star Ackles wants to be considered to play Bruce.
"Uh, I don't know. Even if I knew, I wouldn't tell you," he said in Italy this week.
"I mean, could I do it? Sure. Would I want to do it? Yes.
"Look, right now nobody's talking about anything. There's a strike going on in the entertainment industry, and until that gets solved, nobody is having conversations about anything. Would I entertain the idea of playing my favourite superhero of all time? I would love it. Sign me up."
Andy Muschietti will direct The Brave and the Bold
Even though The Flash has received mixed reviews and is set to be a major box office disappointment, Gunn and fellow Warner Bros. executive Peter Safran have already confirmed that Muschietti will helm the new Batman movie.
The pair recently released a statement which read:
"We saw The Flash even before taking the reins at DC Studios, and knew we were in the hands of not only a visionary director but a massive DC fan.
"It’s a magnificent film – funny, emotional, thrilling – and Andy’s affinity and passion for these characters and this world just resonates through every frame. So, when it came time to find a director for The Brave and the Bold, there was really only one choice.
"Luckily, Andy said yes. ... We couldn’t have better or more inspiring partners as we embark on this thrilling new adventure in the DCU."
