The first trailer has been released for the second season of House of the Dragon.
The first season received acclaim from critics and fans and won Best Drama TV series at the Golden Globe Awards. The series premiere was watched by over 10 million people across all HBO channels on the night of airing which is the biggest in the studio's history.

The show takes place 200 years after the Seven Kingdoms are united by the Targaryen conquest, 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen.
Season one dealt with the succession to the Iron Throne following the ill-health and eventual death of King Viserys, played by Paddy Considine.
Matt Smith played his younger brother, Prince Daemon Targaryen, while Emma D'Arcy and Milly Alcock played his daughter Princess / Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen.
Rhaenyra is battling for the throne against Visery's first-born son, Prince / King Aegon II, played by Tom Glynn-Carney.
There are dozens and dozens of notable supporting characters it is very much an ensemble cast on the set of House of the Dragon.
