George Clooney reckons that Johnny Depp and Mark Wahlberg regret turning down roles in Ocean's 11.

The original Ocean's 11, released in 1960, starred five of the Rat Pack; Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop.

In 2001, a reboot was released and it proved to be one of the most star-studded movies of the noughties, with Clooney leading the cast as Danny Ocean alongside Pitt, Julia Roberts, Damon, Elliott Gould, Andy Garcia, Carl Reiner, Bernie Mac, Don Cheadle and Casey Affleck among others.

It was a huge critical and commercial success, grossing $450 million worldwide from a budget of $85m.

Even though it is tough to imagine anyone else being part of the crew in 2001, there were some huge names who actually turned Clooney and director Steven Soderbergh down.

"Some very famous people told us to f*** right off: Mark Wahlberg, Johnny Depp. There were others. They regret it now," Clooney said alongside Soderbergh at the TCM Classic Film Festival.

Clooney then stated one of his own biggest career regrets.

"I regret doing f****** Batman," he added.

A new Ocean's 11 movie coming?

Two sequels were produced, Ocean's 12 and Ocean's 13 before the franchise was revamped with an all-female crew in 2016 with Ocean's 8.

Now, The Sun reports that Ocean's 14 could be made even though the major stars previously insisted that Ocean's 13 would be their last appearance in the series.

“Rumours of a film starring George, Brad and Matt have swirled for years but the timing was off and their jam-packed schedules meant that it was just not possible,” a source said.

“Finally the right team for the job has come together in a bid to make it a huge success and the main stars thought it would be good fun to revisit.

“The franchise is hugely popular and the brilliant storyline was an opportunity that was too good to miss.”

Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are two names who have been linked with a separate movie within the same universe that would act as a prequel set in the 1960s.
