"Battlin' Back To Back... for the riches of a rangeland empire."

James Everett Parkington "Shamrock" Ellison and his friend Lucky Hayden, who lost his hearing during the American Civil War, are on their way to see Shamrock's mother in Brazos. Both unaware that they are being followed by Marshal Charlie Blythe, who is on the hunt for the outlaw Cyclone Kid. Shamrock and Lucky are ambushed by members of Cyclone Kids gang, who mistake Shamrock for Blythe. When the shooting is over, one of the bandits is found dead and Blythe wounded. Blythe then gives Shamrock his badge and makes him his special assistant.
