Lieutenant Billings' cavalry unit is tasked with bringing a peace treaty to the Native Americans. The journey through the wasteland is hard. The men have to walk through the desert, as their horses were released by a saboteur. Taslik, the chief's son, must guide the unit to the Indians. When a soldier dies because Taslik leads them to a poisoned water source, and the unit is found to be walking in a large circle, Taslik is killed in a firefight. His sister Wanima must now show the men the way. However, when they stumble upon a gold mine, a bloody mutiny breaks out.
