"The Monarch of the Plains!"
Rancher Tom Rigby struggles to stop his employees from driving into the desert after gold is found there by Bill Joyce. Joyce celebrates his find in the saloon and when he leaves he is shot in the back. Rigby calls in the local (and unreliable) doctor Laribe.
