Lafe Kenney's gang tries to buy up cheap land, knowing that the railroad is approaching and the land will be worth a lot more. Bob Patterson wants to buy up cattle, but gets in trouble with the gang when they try to take over Halliday's ranch. The gang bans all cattle buyers so that Halliday can no longer pay his bills. Slade, an accomplice of Kenney, robs Halliday. Patterson devises a plan to trap the gang using Slade's stolen bills.
