The Man from the Rio Grande plot
"He's a straight-shootin, hard-riding man from the Rio Grande, battling his way to bring justice to the lawless West!"
Henry King Sr. and his brother John are on a hunt, where Henry is suspiciously killed. Henry's legacy consists of his prosperous 'Santa Rita Ranch', which will have to be divided between his brother John, his son Henry King Jr., his daughter Doris and the young girl Twinkle Watts. Henry King Jr., who left home at a young age, is said to have been killed in a gun battle in Texas. The unscrupulous John King, aka "King John," has turned down a $1 million offer from the Railways for right of way over the Santa Rita Ranch. King John, along with the corrupt local politician Hanlon, wants to get rid of Doris and Twinkle Watts so that he can inherit everything and demand even more money from the Railways. The journalist and friend of Doris, Tom Traynor, fights with her against King John and Hanlon. They get help from the railroad men Lee Grant and Jimpson Simpson, who were recently engaged in a firefight with King John's foreman Ace Holden.
