The Law Comes to Gunsight plot

"ONLY THE VULTURES Could COUNT The DEAD! Until A Battle-Hardened Sheriff Swept The West Clean Of The Outlaws Who Plagued It!"

Mayor Jim Blaine summons Pecos, a notorious killer, to expel Brad Foster and his henchmen from the town of Gunsight after Brad cuts his share of his gambling spot. On his way to Gunsight, Pecos meets Johnny Mackey and is accidentally killed after trying to steal his horse, Rebel. Along the way, Johnny picks up 12-year-old Bud Hartley, brother of farmer's wife Judy Hartley. When Johnny arrives in town, the mayor mistakes him for Pecos and appoints him sheriff after Brad's men unsuccessfully attempt to kill him and Reno, an old prospector and friend of the Hartleys. Johnny then decides to deal with all the corrupt elements of the city.
