Lucky Harlan hasn't owned his ranch since land baron Bart Dawson documents his land claim in the valley. Lucky refuses to give in to Dawson. Then his cattle are stolen. Lucky becomes suspicious and he leaves for Santa Fe to check that Dawson's papers are correct. But Dawson learns of Lucky's journey and sends his henchmen to make sure Lucky doesn't arrive in Santa Fé.
