Shadows of the North plot
Ben 'Wolf' Darby and his father Ezra 'Pancake' Darby own a mine in Canada. Then Ben is called up to do his military service. He returns and is received as a hero, but in the meantime his father has been ambushed and killed by a gang that has taken possession of the mine. Among the gang members is Jeffrey Neilson, the father of Beatrice, Ben's girlfriend. Ben retaliates by kidnapping Beatrice, only to find out her father is innocent. Ben, together with his faithful four-legged friend King, goes in search of the true perpetrators.
