Ride 'em Cowgirl plot
"THE NEW SONGBIRD OF THE RANGE IN A WESTERN PICTURE THAT'S DIFFERENT"
Gambler and corrupt politician Sandy Doyle, who is in charge of a small frontier town, also wants to acquire the 'Bar-X Ranch' and use it as a base for his illegal activities in the city. This ranch is now owned by Rufe Rickson, who has a weakness for gambling and Doyle hopes to take advantage of that. However, Oliver Shea, a government agent, and his assistant Dan Haggerty stage a fight just as Rickson is being cheated on. Oliver and Dan are then invited to the Bar-X Ranch, where Dan soon falls in love with Rickson's musical daughter Helen. Meanwhile, Sheriff Larson brings the prize money ($5,000) for a Rodeo Association race to the vault, which is stolen that night. Doyle blames Rickson for that. He would have paid his gambling debts with this amount.
