After robbing the bank in Red Bluff, Bob Conroy and his partner "Buckshot" Peters arrive in Santa Fe. Wanting to start a new life, Bob initially refuses the marshal job until he sees Conroy's name engraved on the marshal star. Bob does his job as a marshal well. First he tracks down his father's killer and then and even charges the "outlaw" gang, led by cattle dealer Henry Jackson. One day, "Buckshot" Peters, the crime partner from Bob's past, returns to Santa Fe and confronts Bob with the fact that he is a wanted bandit.
