Law of the Panhandle plot
"RANGE RATS RUN FOR COVER! HERE'S...JOHNNY MACK BROWN"
Sheriff Tom Stocker sends US Marshal Johnny Mack over for a gang trying to evict the ranchers from Green Valley. Along the way, Mack witnesses the murder of a messenger who is said to convey information to the sheriff. Stocker and Mack pursue the killer, but when they reach his hideout, a gunfight ensues in which the sheriff is wounded. Stocker did identify one mobster.
