Last Frontier Uprising plot

Monte meets his old friend Vance when he wants to buy horses for the government. Vance is also looking for horses and when their bid turns out to be identical, they decide to hold a race and the winner gets to buy the horses. Vance's banker plays dirty and tries to influence the race. Vance finds out about that plan and is killed. Monte is blamed for the murder.
