Heart of the Golden West plot

"The Brightest Star In The Western Sky... Blazing Across The Screen In His Most Sensational Motion Picture!"

Roy Rogers and his friends hatch a plan to better protect the Cherokee City ranchers from unjustified bills for trucking their livestock to the cattle buyers. Ross Lambert, the manager of the transport company, doubles his fares and Rogers tries to get his friend Colonel Silas Popen to use his riverboat to transport the cattle. Rogers has in mind a warm welcome in true "western" atmosphere for Popen in Cherokee City, but James Barabee warns him by telegram that Popen hates anything that reminds of the wild west. Lambert intercepts this message and tries to make Cherokee City look like a wild western city with no laws. They also try to set Popen's boat on fire and steal cattle. Rogers and his friends are forced to counteract.
