Der Scout plot

The army, led by Colonel Howard, confiscates the horses of the Nez Perces tribe to prevent them from fleeing to Canada. For the Nez Perces, Canada's only option is to survive and not perish in the reserve. White Feather is given the near-impossible task of reclaiming the horses. His chances of success soar when he hears from members of the Cayuse tribe that the Americans are on their way to Fort Lapwai. The army is in trouble because the fortress has been destroyed. The Cayuse pursue the soldiers and White Feather tries to take advantage of it to return the horses to his people.
